What Vertro is
Vertro provides a repeatable path for creating, securing, and delivering Applications on Google Cloud.
It combines Application onboarding, Google Cloud infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD, GitOps, identity, DevSecOps controls, and GKE guardrails into a working platform foundation that is implemented inside the customer’s environment.
The result is a faster and more consistent delivery path for developers, fewer repetitive platform tasks, and stronger control for security and platform teams.
Why I built it
After years of designing and modernizing Google Cloud platforms, I kept seeing the same problem: developers were not blocked by writing code. They were blocked by everything required before that code could run.
Every new Application required the same work—repositories, IAM, infrastructure, GKE namespaces, CI/CD, security checks, deployment rules, runtime identity, and approvals.
That work was usually spread across tickets, documentation, scripts, and manual handoffs. The result was slow onboarding, inconsistent implementation, and growing dependency on a small platform team.
Vertro was built to turn those repeated tasks into a reusable platform path. Not as a generic toolkit or another developer portal, but as a practical, opinionated implementation for Google Cloud and GKE.

Vertro represents the platform implementation I wished had existed while repeatedly building the same foundations for Google Cloud engineering teams.
